This was a very relaxed afternoon, in the company of some
wonderful wise women. It was so enjoyable it was a shame
it only lasted for three hours.
The
room was laid out to feel 'womb like', with red coverings
over the lights, red cushions and red throws over the
furniture. It worked, the ambience was very soothing and
womanly.
We
spoke about all aspects of womanhood, through from puberty,
motherhood to crone years. Some very interesting comments
came out of the conversation, the main ones we would like
to share are the following.
As
in the days when the moment of birth arrived and only
women were in attendance, it has recently been proven
that a man's presence makes the birth more difficult.
We discussed this further and decided this may be because
of the energies, it may be that if a partner is there
the energies that should be focused on self during birth
maybe be shared with energies given to the partner. A
good subject for further study.
It
was commented, and agreed, that it is important that older
women are there for younger women. It needs to be said
that it is ok to feel confused at various stages of womanhood.
To let them know it all works out and is simply part of
life.
We
all agreed that the taboos of sexuality and femininity
do a lot to keep us away from being at peace. Not talking
about, and not understanding our bodies takes us away
from who we are and takes us away from our power.
The
meditation chosen for this event was the three moon meditation.
This is a beautiful and very powerful meditation whereby
the three energies of the moon are called down; maid,
mother and crone.
The
creative part of the afternoon was to make a hanging mobile
to represent the three stages of our life. For those who
have not yet reached any particular stage, this would
be to represent the attributes of that stage of life.
So with the table spread with beads, buttons and glittery
things, we created our 'Three stages of woman' mobiles.
The
afternoon ended with the enjoyment of tomato pasta, delicious
and the colour red befitting the theme of the afternoon.
It
was a beautiful and inspiring afternoon.
