March
28th 2010 - Balance and Labyrinths
We started the afternoon with introductions using our
talking stick, followed by a very brief meditation to
enable us all to unwind ready to enjoy the activities
ahead.
The discussion was about
Spring Equinox, the continuing rising energies and balance.
The conversation then went on to affirmations in relation
to balance and rising energies.
Next
we did a moving meditation. This was about visualising
ourselves as trees, firstly with loose roots, then a tree
with firm, strong roots deep planted within the Earth.
Then as we swayed around in the various stages of breeze,
wind and gales, we felt the difference it made in being
deep rooted. The idea of this moving meditation is to
understand how important it is for us to be strong in
who we are, could also depict the importance of being
connected to the Earth. After the meditation we also discussed
the importance of not only strong roots allowing us to
deal with the turbulence in life, but also that we must
be able to bend in order to achieve compromise and peace.
It was interesting to discuss what particular trees each
woman felt they were during this meditation.

We
sat around the labyrinth and learned how to draw our own
on paper. Then came the all exciting part of the afternoon,
actually walking the labyrinth. Many of us had never done
so before so it was going to be an interesting adventure.
The craft part of the day was creating our own labyrinth
art, so as the first person ventured into the labyrinth,
the rest of us took to the art room.

We didn't take photographs
of our guests walking the labyrinth as we felt it would
be an intrusion, but you can see Marie and myself as we
walked around. The results were amazing, some women felt
the need to slowly amble through but feeling the need
to rush certain parts, some actually danced around as
they said that is how they were led to go, others just
slowly and carefully walked in deep thought. Everyone
achieved something from this experience, though we do
not share details here as it is very personal to the women
who attend.
After
final refreshments and social time, the afternoon finished
with the Global Sisterhood Meditation.

The
Global Sisterhood Meditation can be found for download
from the front page or the download page of this
website. Please do print off, pass to any women
you know who may be interested, and do as often
as you can. Don't forget, meditation and visualisation
is a powerful form of using energy and can achieve
some amazing results. If we aim to change the world
for the better, let's go for it!!! |
