Growing
your own food is something we sould all be involved with.
The World health Organisation has recetly issued warning
that the world does not grow enough food to feed everyone
and those of us in Britain have little or no choice about
buying food that has been imported from all over the world.
Our farmers have huge
areas of set aside land that the EU forbids them to cultivate
and it therefors make sense to start growing more of the
food we eat.
Our aim with the allotment
project is to use it as a nucleus to encourage more of
the members and people involved within the Goddess Foundation
to get involved. It makes sense to set up a sharing scheme
and for some people to grow specific types of crops which
can be swapped for other items. For example someone may
have a back garden that is ideally suited to groing fruit
bruished, whereas someone else may have enough land to
plant a small orchard to grow apples and pears. Others
might like us have the use of an allotment where the gorund
is suitable for growing root crops. Others could grow
runnner beans and potatoes.
Our
aim this year is to produce enough food to use at the
various gatherings, events and Red Tent days.
Please
keep an eye on these pages. If we can get the greenhouse
in production early enough, we should have extra seedling
available for members
